unPLANned ... ...

but just wanted to justified this magnificent creation. The Gundam Fix Figuration #0013 - MSA-0011-3[Bst] PLAN303E DEEP STRIKER.

A mouthful to the name but the size justified it all. This was one of the first few GFFs that I was searching high and low for. Then Bandai did a reissue and I bought my second piece. However, due to space constraint, I sold off the reissued piece and kept this which I paid much more for.

There are 4 variations you can create out of the packaging but I prefer the Deep Striker for its fantastic engineering.

Starting from Zero ... ...

Macross Zero to be exact. Decided to open Shin Kudo's VF-0A with Ghost Booster since I did SV-51γ last night.

This was released at the same period with SV-51γ and I expected this combo pack thus, did not get the individual VF-0A.

The VF-0A is the first mass-produced variable figher under U.N SPACY and the protagonist, Shin Kudo, beats Hikaru Ichijo to flying in a valkyrie. Roy Folker already a Skull Squadron Commander flying his VF-0S is the mentor (when is he ever not).

Yamato rebounded with 1/60 scale with this series but this like the 1/48 transforms in entirety without the need to remove parts. Although, 1/60, the size is about the same as the 1/48; meaning VF-0s are bigger?

This combo pack included the QF-2200D-B, Ghost Booster. UAV mode seen here.

The ghost booster came along with additional armaments which snaps on rather effortlessly.

Gerwalk mode which is similar if not identical to any VF-1s. In fact, the transformation sequence is the same.

Poseability is nothing out of the ordinary for a Yamato Macross product. The figure stood well on its own even with everything on. Another wonder collection to any Macross Fan.

NORAsh Type ... ...

which I really did take my time to take this piece out finally for a photo-shoot. I must have kept this up in the shelf for at least 4 years or more.

SV-51γ Nora Type from the Macross Zero series (one of the shortest). Apparently, this series dates back earlier to even before VF-1s were made.

The SV-51s were developed by the Anti U.N forces against the VF-0s program; in short the bad guys. More info here.

This is one of those rare complete packaging by Yamato which everything is thrown in and with very detailed parts.

This is definitely NOT a toy and handling this baby takes a lot of patience and delicate fingers or hands do apply.

Fighter mode. Yamato threw in the display stand and fast pack. No variant nonsense

There are many pointy parts especially at the tip of the wings which additional or unnecessary pressure will result in a worthless piece of junk.

The figure in Gerwalk mode with the drone head extended. The feet is another outstanding feature of the SV-51γ.

A rear shot in Gerwalk mode gives the impression of a huge predatory bird which is what the SV-51γ was portrayed in Macross Zero. This is indeed a very hard to handle bogey for Shin Kudo in his VF-0A.

Battleroid mode and the figure stands firmly with its very well engineered feet which provides multiple articulation. There is some resemblance to the VF-27γ from the Macross Frontier. Well, so much for imagination from the world of animation; backup with a simple explanation of progressive technology.

Poseability of the figure like all Yamato valkyries has its limitation but decent enough.

The stand of course comes in handy for more poses and Yamato has been silent for a long time in producing intricate products such as the SV-51γ. Thank goodness I bought both the Nora and Ivanov types.

EVActually and EVAntually ... ...

it is out of the packaging.

Decided to open up and feel Bandai's Soul Spec XS-03 Evangelion EVA-01 as I watched the semi-final match between Singapore an Haiti (eventually in disappointment).

Alien form or the inner body before the armor parts snap on.

I could have bought this back in 2007 or so but never had the opportunity (time) to open it up. The many parts is the deterrent factor. However, I was misled by that as I found out removing and snapping on parts was a stroll in the park.

This was Bandai's flank product for the Chogokin market as the earlier release of EVAs under the Chogokin line suffers what collectors term as crack shins. Packaging is rather retro with the specialised windows for the parts.

The series of pix above and below 2 shows the entry plug tube being inserted.

Pilot is in and empathic link in-sync with EVA and has full control.

I did not include the umbilical cable that powers up the EVA at the back (which I find the idea really silly).

This set comes with  3 weapons only and the first is the progressive knife which is an energy blade that was used to kill the first angel in the anime.

Figure is great in the area of articulation and the materials mix is fantastic. The inner frame is mostly plastic and the armor in the real sense are largely diecast material.

The next weapon is the pallet rifle which did not do much damage to anything in the series.

The gatling gun which is pretty detailed and makes EVA-01 here looks rather formidable. However, all these weapons are nothing compared to what the 01 can do on its own when it goes into the berserk mode.

This figure is rather rare in shops now but I do remember Takashimaya selling them a couple of months ago and in fact, I bought one for my son.

Body Bagged ... ...

and accounted for.
The 2 main woes of a collector are:
1. $
2. Space

In my desperate attempt to maximise the limited storage space, I have to "sacrifice" a few good men.

"Commander, we seemed to be surrounded!!"

"Let me get to higher ground and radio for backup."

The execution of HK-50 by the Predator like Commander Bacara

Neither Perseus nor Medusa. It's Commander Devis

Advanced Reconnaissance Commandos (ARC Commander and Officer)

Stripped off the gear

Bagged and ready to be stowed away.

Cyclonic Metal Trigger Happy... ...

Just dropped by my regular toy shop and picked these Ws up. Frankly speaking, this was not in my shopping list but ... ...

Anyway, this is one of those sets that Bandai is offering to "milk" collectors playing with the permutation combining the doubles up.

To make sure collectors buy, Bandai cleverly added this weapon expansion set. The set comes with the Memory Gadgets: Bat Shot, Stag Phone and Spider Shock for Trigger and a large wavy scarf for Cyclone, tsk tsk tsk.

Had to wake Joker up for this Cyclone group shot. To think that I actually did not quite like the design of this series thinking they look like circus clowns; well, they still kinda do.

Fit the scaf to Cyclone Joker

Cyclone Trigger

Bat Shot

Cyclone Trigger is the same as the previous release of Heat Metal
