Astray (Metal Build) again in the Blue Frame ... ...

I have always been a fan of Gundam and the series that has my all time favourite mobile suits are the SEED series featuring the Astray Frames. I am particularly interested in 2 of the frames; red and blue frame.

Here we have the Blue Frame (again) which I possessed the MG 1/100 version backed in 2010.
The version of this entry is Bandai Tamashi's Metal Build line and I have not bought any under this line of toys for the hefty price tag it commands. However, I do have 1 similar variant of this line; G.F.F Metal Composite Unicorn Banshee Norn.

The reason I have this which was released back in 2016 has got to do with certain discount I enjoyed.

The figure is mainly plastic while the inner frame and the joints have extensive use of diecast metal.

The scale is about 1/100 with lots of details and sharp parts. Handling it needs extreme caution and patience.

The story of this Astray and its pilot can be found here.

Name of the pilot: Gai Murakumo is printed on the left knee.

This is a Full Weapon form which Gai has customised the Blue Frame for engaging large or muliple enemies.

However, like all gundams, the Blue Frame comes with standard armaments such as the shield, beam rifle and sabers.

Information from the Fandom Wikia as follows:
  • Full Weapon Form
As a mercenary, Gai often gets himself into lopsided MS battle, thus he designed a "Full Weapon" form for Blue Frame in which the MS is loaded with multiple bazookas and missile launchers that are also used by ZAFT's mobile suit. These equipments do not use much energy and allows Gai to fight multiple enemies easily. He used this form when he was guarding the Eurasian Confederacy's Artemis space fortress.
  • 8-tube Missile Launcher
  • M68 "Pardus" 3-Barrel Short-range Guided Missile Launcher
  • M68 "Cattus" 500mm Recoilless Rifle

A display stand is included and it details the name of the mercenary group: Serpent Tail which Gai leads.

There are options for mounting the missile pods and the bazookas.

The configuration above and below is my favourite and that's what got me sold to deciding on buying this.
