A Real American Hero - "Storm Shadow" ... ...

This is Sideshow's G.I Joe Storm Shadow based on the comic book series and not the big screen version. I do like the Hot Toys's movie version but the thought of it becoming yellow stopped me from buying. However, for this, everything about it made me purchase this.

"In his original A Real American Hero incarnation, Storm Shadow's real name is Thomas S. Arashikage (トーマス・嵐影) (Arashi meaning "Storm" and kage meaning "shadow" in Japanese), a Japanese American. Storm Shadow served in the U.S. Army special operations group along with Snake Eyes, and later invited him to train as a ninja with his family in Japan. The duo have been everything to one another from the bitterest of enemies, to the most loyal of friends, who would fight and die for one another.
Storm Shadow can trace his family history through thirty generations of assassins. He is an 8th degree black belt in several martial arts, and can endure unimaginable amounts of hardship and pain. Storm Shadow moves with blinding speed, can scale sheer walls with bare hands and feet, and is an expert with a long bow, katana, throwing stars and nunchaku sticks. He usually wears a white uniform and mask. When out of his uniform, he is shown to be Japanese, with black hair and dark eyes.
In 2007, the character's creator, Larry Hama, revealed an alternate name for the character, Tomisaburo Arashikage (嵐影富三郎), in the solo series Storm Shadow. His tattoo is a hexagram of the I Ching named 既濟 (jì jì), or "Already Fording".

Tiger & Bunny Double Chaser ... ...

One thing about being a toy collector who collects almost everything and anything is that I end up with either many things or nothing as certain things really do come in limited stock.

One such example are items from Tamashii and the item I'm referring to is the Double Chaser from Tiger and Bunny.

I had always knew that there is a model kit version of the Double Chaser but I really am not too keen on putting model kits up. But here we are, I built not just the Double Chaser but also Tiger and Bunny. The story goes like this ...

Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats Ho! ... ...

I've watched Thundercats back in the 90s and I've loved it but was able to own only Lion-O's action figure. The show had a reboot in 2011 but I've not watched a single episode as I don't think it has the magic on me this time.

The Lion-O deluxe figure has a gimmick that does the transformation chant but I've taken the video with the wrong orientation. Apologies for that... anyway, you get the idea of how it works. 

Hot Toys Iron Patriot Part II ... ...

Previously on Alteregoistic ... ... I realized that I've not maximised the full potential of this figure; the enhanced joints that enable it to do the signature ground punch. However, all this moving around takes a toll on the paint job.

Acid Rain Agurts Infantry 88th ... ...

This is another product under Acid Rain story from Oritoy. Information about what this guy is can be found at the Acid Rain blog.

I've only ordered one of them as I find the price rather steep and this is probably just the introductory price for now.

It has a long uninteresting name. I just took to calling it... The Bat ... ...

and yes, Mr. Wayne, it does come in black - That's what the Fox says...

I doubt I will ever own the Hot Toys version if they are really making this for obvious reasons. I was pleasantly surprised that Kaiyodo decided to make one under their Sci-Fi line.

Hot Toys Iron Patriot ... ...

“Same guy, same suit, just a different paint job”

War Machine Mark II is now Iron Patriot from Iron Man 3. The origins of Iron Patriot can be found here and it has nothing to do with James Rhodes or War Machine.

This is a fantastic piece and if you need to just eat bread for a month to get it, I urge that you do that.

All That Doesn't Glitter is Midas (Iron Man Mark XXI) ... ...

I didn't get my hands on the exclusive Mark XXI, Midas from Hot Toys or Play Imaginative. So, when I knew Neca is making one, I had to have one.

It may not be as shiny as Hot Toys or Play Imaginative but it will do for me. Here's a little background information on Midas.

Neca Arkham Origins Batman ... ...

This is one of those Batmans I wouldn't have gotten. However, Neca nailed it with the scale and the details for this fella. Standing at 18", this batman has made it to my top 10 best made Batman list.

If it Ain't Hot, It's Neca Toys ... ...

I'm actually excited about these 2 because they are my first 1/4 scale size toys and boy are they big and hefty! Did I mention they are made of mainly plastics?

1/4 scale was introduced not too long ago and I believe the big brother in this line is Hot Toys with the release of Terminator and The Dark Knight. Play Imaginative entered the arena with their Iron Man offerings which I think has been hit hard with post production issues. Then there's Neca which wanted a piece of the 1/4 pie. Well, I gave a pass for their previous offerings but with Midas and Arkham Batman, Neca hit the sweet note in my book.

aMazinger Z II ... ...

This is definitely a long overdue follow up of this post last year. Just a quick recap that this a Tamashii Nations Mazinger Z under the line of Super Chogokin (SOC) by Bandai.
