Age of Extinction Breakout Set ... ...

It's really been a while since I last bought Transformers toys from the Movies and somehow I went for this set for that G1 nostalgic feel of Prime.

This is the scene where Prime was located by the humans and Lockdown alliance and Prime transformed to protect Cade Yeager and his daughter from Lockdown's attack. There is something amiss in this set and that's Rollbar and Crankcase.

Let's first start with the unpacking of the packaging.

The packaging comes with the diorama of Cade's barn where he was repairing Prime. In the picture above, we have Rollbar, Crankcase and Prime. I mentioned there's something wrong with this because in the movie, Rollbar did not transform as it wasn't meant to be a Transformers. Crankcase was in the other movie "Dark of the Moon".

Prime transformed in desperation to protect the Yeager family.

Vehicon attacking..... which didn't happen. In the movie, it was Lockdown shooting from a distance away from the barn.

In drives Shane Dyson in his rally vehicle to save everyone. There was an anticipative moment in the theater when the vehicle appeared and I was expecting it to transform but when Shane appears behind the driver's seat, the audience knew...this ain't a Transformers.

Let's now take a closer look at each Transformers in their vehicle mode and alternative mode aka the robot mode.

Rollbar looks very good in both the vehicle mode and robot mode and if this is a Takara Tomy version, it will have better paint job. However, the paint job is 90% movie accurate.

This guy comes arsenal packed, 2 shoulder canons, shoulder missile pods, swing out guns in his forearms and a rifle that can be split into a pistol and rifle.

Next is Crankcase portraying as Vehicon. He looks very very bada$$. but he wasn't in the movie!!

The weapon comes with an attack mode.

Here comes the main attraction which is Optimus Prime. The is very well-made and the joints are click joints which give Prime very good movement for poses.

The smokestacks beside the head gives the impression that there are 2 smokestacks in vehicle mode.

Vehicle mode which pays homage to G1 Prime except this is a single smokestack.

The only not so well made part is the rear of the cab which is the chest plate pieces in robot mode.

Well, Hasbro sure has their way to reuse their moulds and pack everything into a set.
